I love my new Maltese Moni. I've never been a Maltese Mom before and I need all the in put I can get from experienced Maltese parents out their, to keep her healthy and happy. Please help if you can.
I have only parented Poodles in the past. I've had Moni just over a week now and it is becoming clear to me that this breed is quite different . Any suggestions or advice are welcomed. Thanks Morgan

I am a new Maltese mom. I have always had Poodles. She is so quiet compaired to the Poodle! Is this charictoristic of the breed or should I be concerned? I mean she has her moments of routy play, but for the most part even at a little over 8 wks I can take her any place with out all the hooping and hollaring

Uchi is my little boy. In the picture he is only about 3 months old, he is 10 months now. I fell in love with my old roommates Maltese about four years ago. After I moved out I really missed the little girl. I now have Uchi and he his so sweet, loving and gentle. I'm so happy to have him.

Hi Morgan, just got a maltese puppy she is 5 month's now and being used to a shihtzu, it is more work grooming but well worth it I found out it is a very gentle breed If you are looking for hugs and kisses and a lot of snuggling this is the dog to get but don't forget daily grooming is a must but also a joy. and they are very "fragile" compared to a shih tzu I am very happy and would love to have a nother one. sorry no experience with poodles! I hope this helps a little too?

It will be two weeks since Rio passed away. I have been overwhelmed with flowers, sympathy cards from friends and family. I received a beautiful floral arrangement with a nice size cuddly teddy bear on Monday. There was a beautiful note attached but no name. I cried when I read the note. Rio touched so many lives in his 12 years. He was very much loved. The condolences keep coming everyday. Four days after Rio passed at around 1am I heard a little bell (Rio wore a cat collar with a bell so I could here him at night if he paced) and a bark. I kept asking God to give me a sign that Rio was in good hands. Well, I truly believe Rio gave me a sign and he is now a little angel and resting peacefully in heaven. Oliver seems to be doing better. I've been taking him to work, and doggy day care in the morning. So many people have offered their help during this time.
We will visit Rio's grave over the weekend. Above him are flowers and a St Francis of Assisi figurine that I picked out for Rio. Rio was buried in a beautiful baby blue blanket with a silk ribbon. I gave my little Rio a kiss on his forehead when he passed away and wrapped him up in his blanket. I placed him in his tiny coffin. Family gathered early morning June 28th , we held hands and said a prayer and we laid Rio to rest. My friend paid a tribute to Rio on her website. You are all welcome to view it: www.flexstar.net (scroll to the bottom of the page and you'll see Rio with Oliver.....
