I Remember Love

The Social Network for Dog Lovers

Our MinPin, Cinnamon (she came from a breeder, before we discovered rescue) was 10 yrs old in August. She has been diagnosed with Cushing's Disease. At this point, we are watching her carefully and keeping her away from all other dogs (except our other 2). We have chosen not to treat the disease because, as our vet explained it, the treatment consists of killing the adrenal gland and could make her very ill. Not worth it. She is still perky and feisty, and rules the roost. Due to the disease she is rotund, drinks water more frequently, and needs to pee more often. She still tells us when she needs to go outside ... during the day, the cats are in our bedroom and the doggie door is open. Her face is gray - much like my husband and me! She is such a sweet girl and so full of love. We will do the right thing when it is time, but please pray for her. In the picture she and our cats are helping me decorate for Christmas. :)

MY SISTER'S DOG HAS CUSHING'S DISEASE. SHE GIVES HER MILK THISTLE. I UNDERSTAND YOUR SITUATION WITH CINNAMON. I WILL KEEP HER IN MY PRAYERS.

Will go pick up some milk thistle. Thank you for the tip. Thanks also for the prayers. She is stubborn and heard-headed, loyal and loving.
