Maui adores Allyson, her groomer. Allyson is a real "pet angel" who gets her clients in a very deep, beautiful way.

Please try to keep the hair around her eyes clipped even if you have to do it yourself. My vet said it causes infection and blindness. Maui is sooooo pretty

That was a lot of explaining...we must have made you feel really bad. Either way Maui looked cute, it's just tough on them when they get matted, and there isn't anything better than a GREAT groomer that you are comfortable with. I have used the same groomer for 3 1/2 years with Baby and now with Tanner, she is the only one I have ever used, I always tipped her after each dog was groomed and always gave her a good Christmas bonus, and she just recently retired so I feel kind of lost these days without her, it's scarey trusting new people with our babies:(

I can totally relate to Maui; I am proud owner to Jeepers, a male Maltese 12 yrs. old. I love his scruffy look and those big dark eyes! But then, he's cute when cut too. We like to keep a puppy cut also. He too, struts his stuff when clipped like it feels so good! He also struts when he wears his bandanas, shirts or sweaters. Someday I'll have to send pics when I can. Allyson is beautiful; inside and out.

PS And if we had a groomer who looked like your Allyson, my husband would never pick Cricket up!
I wouldn't let him!!

We have a Shih Tzu, Cricket. She is 2 years diabetic(2 shots a day), and just in the last few weeks, she has gone blind. The cataracts are quickly taking away her sight! Needless to say, we are devastated! We do not love her less, but we are so sad for her. We have her groomed about every 6 weeks. And we also have a wonderful groomer! She genuinely loves all of her 'clients'. We have absolutely no qualms about leaving Cricket. Even with Cricket blind, we know that Betty Jo will make sure that Cricket is calm and loved. And we love her for that. I think anyone is especially fortunate to find a groomer like her. We make our next appointment while picking her up from this one! Betty Jo is very popular and stays booked up. So we are very careful keeping the appointments up to date. And, I have been to Hawaii 3 times and it is indeed, Paradise!! My favorite place in this whole wide world. If I didn't have 5 grandkids stateside, and if I thought I could afford it, I would move to Hawaii in a New York minute!!!!!

I have two maltese babies, and one Angel, and have always clipped them myself. You should try it, not so hard at all, especially if they are good babies. I am not a groomer, never have been. I think my babies turn out looking great. (ignore the cut on my Angel baby in the photo, she had just got back from hospital and they gave her a strange poodle cut). I don't want the trouble of having to brush them each day, as I am sure they don't. You know, I have never brushed any of them in their lives, and never had a problem with matting, except when they are sick. They will sit for 1/2 hour happily and get a haircut, but no way will they tolerate me brushing them. Fine by both of us :) They both look adorable always, clean & fluffy, keep them an inch long no more. Its too hot here in Oz for long hair anyways, and we get these awful ticks that kill these babies in hours, so not worth the risk. Hmmmmm maybe I should come and set up shop there.

I am a groomer in southern california and i have had the chance to work with allyson when she was still living in california, and in that time we worked together we became really good friends. We still talk and keep in touch to this day.I am very excited because i will be visiting her for the first time this june and i can't wait to see her again and her two girl's tah ti and sidelle.Since she has moved up there she has been trying to get me to move out there and groom with her.....We'll see i am planing to go with her on some of her grooming appointment's just to see what her day's are like. You are one of the lucky one's to have had such a wounderful person groom maui.....Maybe i will be one of the lucky one's and get to meet maui that would make the trip that much more special. Luv your website keep up the good work.........I love you Allyson see you in june

I have a Westie but keep her in a short, scruffy Schnauzer-like cut!! Its very cute but ib between I give her a quick Karen-cut! She's very good about it. My groomer is very popular too and ou have to book at least a month in advance which is sometimes harder certain months (holidays, in-season)as I only bid a month out for my job. And my groomer is 2 hours south. I've tried a few local ones, but love who I've used for 15 years. (2 dogs over that time)

Actually I think Maui looked great with her long flowing hair. Then Maui was adorable with her new hair cut as well. Then again I've never seen a dog I didn't think was just adorable. Somthing about that girls eyes that just makes my heart flutter.

I once had a wonderful poodle. He liked it best when I would groom him and so did I. But than again in my other life, I did people hair. So that may account why it came easy to me. You should have your baby get a human beauty expert when Allyson is out of town. Everyone would get a hoot out of that.
