What is a Havanese? Smoky came to me as a scared, severly injured baby. I immediately took him to my vet and they thought his pelvis was broken. They did x-rays and said he had been either hit by a car or kicked really hard. He was food aggressive and hid for about a week behind the couch. The vet had no idea what breed or age he was. I assumed he is a poodle mix becuase of his always growing curly hair.

The Havanese is the National dog of Cuba. Also known as the Bichon Havanese, they are a small, sweet, lap dog. I have a bichon named George who has been, without a doubt, the sweetest and most gentle and loving dog I've ever had. It's so sad that Smoky had a rough start but I'll bet with love and patience you'll have a loyal and loving friend. There's lots of information on the web about Havanese. One place I found was:
