I Remember Love

The Social Network for Dog Lovers

Thank you for your prayers and warm wishes for Maui.

I am hoping that her ulcers will get better and she will feel
better soon. It is very sad to see her spend all her time sleeping
and not eating at all. (She is getting IV and sub-cutaneous
fluids from the vet.)

Thanks again for your thoughts. We appreciate it.
Aloha.

Give Maui the times she needs........she will let you know when it's time for her to go. You are in my heart and prayers and I know you will not let your beautiful girl suffer.

Dearest James -
I just watched your video and it took me back to some heartwrenching times when some of my furred companions were transitioning. I do not believe in euthanasia, although I did have to make that decision once and it was the correct one at the time. Over the past few years, our babies have all transitioned at home, quietly slipping into what was probably a coma, and slipping gently away as they slept in our bedroom on a favourite rug. Yes, towards the end they did not eat, even the ever yummy cat food, nor did they choose to drink very much. But I respected their wishes, as long as there was no pain, and let them leave on their own terms in their own time. It is very, very hard to watch your best friend slip away, but it is also very very comforting to know that you enabled them to make that decision on their own. Serious pain or discomfort was not present; had it been, I am sure my decision would have probably been different. I always reassured them that it was okay to go; that mom and dad would miss them but that their jobs were done and that they could now go into the light and play forever in the green fields of the Lord. And they heard and quietly left me. And left me sure that the final respect you can give the wise creatures whose names are god spelled backward for a very good reason is to allow them the freedom to choose the time that they slip the bonds of earth themselves.

Your video touched me as I sit here, highpowered news director in a radio and tv station that I am supposed to be, with tears in my eyes for a little white dog thousands of miles away and a man whose life has been changed by this little creature who is love itself.

Be strong. Be as strong as Maui. She will show you the way.

Patty

I have been looking at your updates and feel so sorry - i lost and found my cat Gizmo - she turned up after a couple of weeks so ill and the vets held out not much hope but I made her a soft comfy bed in our lounge so she felt warm and good. she kept looking at me and I at her. Slowly she started eating little but sometimes she lay there so still not the feisty outside cat she had been. This went on for 2 weeks and then she recovered and up and went outside - the outside she loved. The following year this happened again where she disappeared and was run over. I never say her again. I cried like a baby for two weeks and will never forget her. It was her time but I am glad she came back to me the year before and I had some time with her still.

Hello James

I'm so sorry to hear about Maui

If you would like me to talk with her (complimentary) and see if she needs anything, I'd be delighted (I'm an animal communicator). I work with natural products, one of which saved the life of one of my older cats (works for dogs too!).

Please let me know if I can be of assistance.

Love, Peace, and Harmony

Dear James,

I am so sad for you. Being the survivor is the worst side of good-bye, and it is hard to grasp that now your precious friend, Maui, has gone to the Rainbow Bridge and she is whole and well again, and so thankful for your kindness and love during her journey there.

I believe that God is very good to us and those we love. I believe Maui's passing was very peaceful and gentle. I believe it is a very good thing that she had you to help her to the end. I believe you were both blessed immensely by the love that existed between you, and that it will comfort you as you grieve her loss.

I extend to you my sincerest sympathy.

Blessings, Barbara

I am very sorry to hear about the passing of Maui. I had hoped that she would pull through and be with you for a while longer so you, Molly and all who lived and loved her and had her loyal love to the end could have some more time with her. It was her time to go and a time for her to go. Please be comforted that all the website community have you in their prayers as well as those who knew her personnally. Thinking of you, Molly and saying many prayers for Maui.
