It is with a heavy heart that I
am writing to let you know that
Maui passed away today.
I thank you and everyone in our
community who has kept us in
your thoughts and prayers these
past few days.
I know that Maui was a little
part of a lot of people's lives.
I am going to disconnect from email
for a few days, but if you would
like to send your condolences or
words of support, please post a
comment below.
Please know that I will read all
of your kind messages when I
re-emerge sometime next week.
Again, many thanks for your
support and prayers this past week.
Molly and I (and most importantly,
Maui) felt them. Thank you from
the bottom of my heart.
Losing a dog that has been your friend for so long is one of the most difficult things I've ever had to deal with and I understand your sorrow today. You made a loving decision to put Maui at peace so she will feel no pain. I will think of you often in the next few weeks and hope your pain will be less as time goes on.
Sending you love and healing. May your heart heal and may Maui inspire you always as you remember the love you shared and will continue to share - for love is forever and love never ends.
I am so very sorry to hear of the loss of your sweet little Maui. She was so precious. My husband and I were devastated when the time came for our little Mickey (Shih Tzu) to leave us. We feel your pain. You are in our thoughts during this difficult time.
There are no words that can sooth a loss so profound. My heart is with you, James and Molly.
Chase the butterflies with your once again clear eyes and youthful, painfree prance, Maui.... May you truly enjoy the Bridge, darling girl, until your Daddy comes to take you home.
James and Molly.........Only another person who loves dogs as you do can fully understand the feeling of loss and pain you are experencing now~
There is a place in my heart for God's gentle creation that nothing else can be compared to.....I wish there was some way I could take part of your pain away, but maybe in a way, just knowing the love and compassion that is surrounding you all right now from all of us, can help in some small way ease the pain~
You will continue to be in my thoughts and Prayers as you go through this trial.
Just know you are not alone, and so many have experenced the same feeling you are now, and others to come........we will all help get you through this together.
Seems like I can just see little Maui now, well, active, happy and running through clover with my beautiful Boston Terrier, Courtney who crossed the Rainbow Bridge 4 years ago~
I now have Holly, a beautiful Chihuahua, who lives with me~and I just know there is another fur baby out there when you are ready to love you as Maui did.............
Because James.............Do You Remember~Love?

James & Molly, Mr. Bo, Josie and I are sending you all the love we have during this difficult time. We feel like we know you and are blessed by "Do You Remember Love." You mean so much to so many for what you have shared with us. I hope this quote by Susan Chernak McElroy will comfort you as it did me when I lost my precious Dolly a year ago: “Animals are more to us than we know. Their partnership with us is a holy one that endures across a lifetime and possibly beyond.”
Know that I hold you and Molly close in my heart and though we all know Maui is suffering no longer, she will be deeply missed. Her memory and beauty will live on in our hearts.
love & light from all of us, Sandra
James, our hearts are so heavy for you....We've put 4 dogs to sleep in our 34 years together....it's SO sad, and you never get over it. The only consolation is that you have given Maui the very best life she could hope for, and that she's in heaven now with all her little animal friends. We are SO sorry for YOU... Judy and John Black (Paso Robles, Ca.)
James and Molly,
I am so sorry to hear of Maui's passing. Grieve as long as it takes and take as long as you need to grieve. (I know how difficult this is, I am still grieving my Mariah.) Maui is waiting for you on the other side. Take it minute by minute. You will get through this...
I CRIED WHEN I READ OF MAUI'S PASSING. I GREW TO LOVE HER TOO MY FRIEND......SHE WILL BE GREATLY MISSED BY US ALL.....MY FURBABIES ZOEY AND TAYLOR SEND THEIR LOVE TOO.............
James, My heart aches for you. I know how it hurts to lose your very best little fur friend. Maui is now at peace and waiting for you at the Rainbow Bridge. What a wonderful life the two of you shared and she touched so many other lives also. Sending healing thoughts your way from Stormy and myself. Nance
