It is with a heavy heart that I
am writing to let you know that
Maui passed away today.
I thank you and everyone in our
community who has kept us in
your thoughts and prayers these
past few days.
I know that Maui was a little
part of a lot of people's lives.
I am going to disconnect from email
for a few days, but if you would
like to send your condolences or
words of support, please post a
comment below.
Please know that I will read all
of your kind messages when I
re-emerge sometime next week.
Again, many thanks for your
support and prayers this past week.
Molly and I (and most importantly,
Maui) felt them. Thank you from
the bottom of my heart.
We are so sorry to hear of Maui's passing. She is no longer suffering and is now young, healthy & in no more pain. She misses you as much as you miss her. But she would want you to be happy and smile when you think of her. She is playing happily on the bridge with all the other beloved animals who await their companions on the other side of the Rainbow Bridge were you will be reunited one day in Peace and Love Always and Forever. You are all in our thoughts and prayer in your time of sorrow and always.
My oldest son was doing a study on the Discovery Channel website were they will be naming sharks and wwill be tracking them Today 07/25/08 he asked me mom how do you spell Maui? I would like to name my shark Maui. So in honor of Maui.
We would also like to leave you with a bunch of beautiful and touching poems that helped us in our time of sorrow in the last 3 yrs we have lost my grandmother, 2 dogs, 2 guinea pigs and a hamster.
I hope you like this and they help in some way.
A Bridge Called Love
It takes us back to brighter years,
to happier sunlit days
and to precious moments
that will be with us always.
And these fond recollections
are treasured in the heart
to bring us always close to those
from whom we had to part.
There is a bridge of memories
from earth to Heaven above...
It keeps our dear ones near us
It's the bridge that we call love.
~ Author Unknown ~ Fly
Fly, fly little one
Fly beyond imagining
The softest cloud, the whitest dove
Upon the wind of heaven's love
Past the planets and the stars
Leave this lonely world of ours
Escape the sorrow and the pain
And fly again
Fly, fly precious one
Your endless journey has begun
Take your gentle happiness
Far too beautiful for this
Cross over to the other shore
There is peace forevermore
Bold this mem'ry bittersweet
Until we meet
Fly, fly do not fear
Don't waste a breath, don't shed a tear
Your heart is pure, your soul is free
Be on your way, don't wait for me
Above the universe you'll climb
On beyond the hands of time
The moon will rise, the sun will set
But I won't forget
Fly, fly little wing
Fly where only angels sing
Fly away, the time is right
Go now, find the light...
~ Lyrics to song performed by Celine Dion ~
Butterfly Memorial
Like the graceful butterfly, my soul has just changed form. My time had come,
I had to leave, I'm in God's arms so do not grieve. Brought on the wings of
butterflies, I'm safe back home in paradise.
I'M FREE
-
Don't grieve for me, for now I'm free.
I'm following the path God has laid you see.
I took His hand when I heard Him call, I turned my back and left it all.
I could not stay another day.
To laugh, to love, to work or play.
Tasks left undone must stay that way.
I found that peace at the close of the day.
If my parting has left a void, then fill
it with remembered joys.
A friendship shared, a laugh, a kiss.
Oh yes, these things I too will miss.
Be not burdened with times of sorrow.
I wish you the sunshine of tomorrow.
My life's been full, I savored much.
Good friends,good times, a loved one's touch.
Perhaps my time seemed all too brief.
Don't lengthen it now with undue grief.
Lift up your hearts and peace to thee.
God wanted me now; He set me free!
-- I'M NOT GONE
I am not gone,
my soul lives on but in a better place.
Surrounded by the light of God
in all his glory and grace.
Whispers from Heaven
When I left this world without you
I know it made you blue.
Your tears fell so freely,
I watched; I know this is true.
While you were weeping
Days after I passed away-
While all was silent within me,
I saw you kneel to pray.
From this wonderful place called heaven
Where all my pain is gone,
I send a gentle breeze to whisper,
"My loved ones, please go on"
The peace that I have found here
Goes far beyond compare
No rain, no clouds, no suffering-
Just LOVE
That friend that patiently awaited loving! Like God there was love enough from my dog. It was at the end that I realized that giving was the only thing I took for granted. I looked after them Echo Grungie and watched over another Echo of John Johns who left me Lucky when he was taken in a headon. I'm grateful for the giving of these angels left in my care. They asked so little in return. I feel no burden in their demands nor in their loss! There is a patience in their lives that humbled me and today Zenzei, the Chinese Crested, who joined our pack a year and a half ago, loves better than any of us. He loves life with a zest that makes us a happier livelier pack. So I feel your loss BUT I know the wealth of humility inherited and I know you will never lose the blessings of Maui. I personally thank Maui for meditation guidance with our pack and I am soul connected to Maui's passage NOW! There is always more and I am forever with every dog I have had the pleasure to have met.

I was heartbroken to learn of the loss of Maui, but I know that you did the right thing for her. Maui will wait for you to cross the Rainbow Bridge, but until then you will have many wonderful memories of her. Maui now runs and plays with sighted eyes and no pain.
I will keep you in my prayers and please know that my deepest sympathy is extended to you at this time.
Thank for sharing Maui with all of us.
Jean, along with Jinglebell, Shyann and Maggie Mae
My heart hurts for you so very deeply. I have lost many of my 'fur babies.' I know how it feels. When I lost my first Borzoi, who was my heart, a part of my heart died. I have been devastated by any others I've lost, but he was my real love.
If I could hold you and let you cry, I would. It helps me to remember I'll be seeing my beloved friends at the Rainbow Bridge.
I offer my deepest sympathy for you in your loss. We attend a small Baptist Church in the mountains of North Georgia and had prayer for you guys Wednesday night. I believe God is holding her safely in his arms and while she misses you he will provide everyone peace and comfort.
James and Molly,
Your loss is heavy and your heart does ache,
As you mourn your Dear Sweet Maui,
Your heart, your heart.... really wants to break -
You have given us all ,"I Remember Love",
So we wanted to, " thank you", from the sky above,
Together we have all grown,
Know now and forever your never alone.
Our deepest and most heartfelt condolences.

I am so sorry for the loss of your beloved friend and companion James. I was saddened to see the email tonight, and want to send my sincere condolences to you and your family. Know that Maui is in a better place, no more suffering. I know how heavy your heart is feeling, as I believe we have all lost our best friends/dogs over the years, it takes time to heal, I lost my Sheltie Buddy at age 18 and to this day he is never far from my heart. God Speed to Maui, and may the Good Lord wrap his loving arms around you and your family over the passing of Maui...Always remember "Always in our hearts, never forgotten....." We loved Maui as tho he was one of our own, what effects you, effects everyone on this wonderful site. God Bless you and we will say a silent prayer tonight here in CA as we take time in silience to remember the joy and love that you and Maui brought to each one of us. Blessings and love from CA, Susan, Sammy and Twosoxs
I agree with Elaine, James and Molly. Maui has reunited with God and sits at His right knee. I know when my Alvin died, I was so grief stricken that God & Alvin sent me a picture of them together in my heart. Knowing that it was God's time with Alvin made me feel a little better. He was such a wonderful cat, how could God not want time with him too! Alvin told me he would be waiting for me and that we would be together again soon.
Know that Maui is doing the same and sees again and will be watching over you everyday of your life, waiting until the time comes that you will be together again. She's not really gone you know. She will always be there, in your heart.
My thoughts and prayers are with you.
~Namaste~

I am very sorry for your precious loss. I know the hole in your heart hurts but you can be glad to know Maui no longer suffers and is in heaven saving you a spot!
May the pain lesson each day as you grieve the passing of your precious "furbaby". Please know that she indeed has touch many lives and we all promise you that as Maui reached the rainbow bridge she was welcome by many friends. Our thoughts and prayers continue to be with the both of you during this time.
My heart aches for you. I know that she was your baby, and faithful, and I'd venture to guess your shadow. You loved her, everyone who has kept in touch with you loved her and God loves her, too. Peace!
