I Remember Love

The Social Network for Dog Lovers

It is with a heavy heart that I
am writing to let you know that
Maui passed away today.

I thank you and everyone in our
community who has kept us in
your thoughts and prayers these
past few days.

I know that Maui was a little
part of a lot of people's lives.

I am going to disconnect from email
for a few days, but if you would
like to send your condolences or
words of support, please post a
comment below.

Please know that I will read all
of your kind messages when I
re-emerge sometime next week.

Again, many thanks for your
support and prayers this past week.
Molly and I (and most importantly,
Maui) felt them. Thank you from
the bottom of my heart.

Aloha,

James Jacobson

My heart is so broken over your lose. I have had the same feelings at the loss of my beloved pet however I rejoice in the fact that Maui no longer suffers and is playing freely and in good health. We serve a might God that knows our every want and need and so do our pets. One day you will joyfully reunite with this little white ball of love and the reunion will be like no other. Take time to grive and then bath in the joy that you have received from one so small. My prayers are with you and Molly at this time-Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.

When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.

They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

With love and tears I read your message this morning. Maui touched so many lives through you. She had active listeners as well as silent ones. Her legacy lives on, a part of each of us now. She inspired and will continue to inspire. Her story isn't over :) just taking on a new dimension. Keep listening and knowing. The pain of separation never goes away but in time it will ease and the happy thoughts and memories will take over as a gentle reminder that she is always here. I know there are no words to ease the sorrow you and Molly feel at this time but know that others are thinking of you and sharing your sadness.

James and Molly you are both in my prayers. I only have a few e-mails that I read and yours is one of them. You and Maui have brought joy into my life. I know how hard it is to lose a friend as we lost our buddy Brady 6 months ago and two of our other dags are very old and God may be taking one of them shortly. I do believe that "All Dogs Go To Heaven" and that Maui is now playing with Brady and all the other animals that have past to a better place. Take heart and find peace in the fact that you all will be reunited some day. Take care, remember the good times and God bless you and Molly. He is already blessing Maui.

I am so sorry for your loss. Please know that you and little Maui have touched so many lives..made such an impact. Together you made a difference. How many people can say that today?
I know right now your pain is beyond any threshold you thought you had. Be strong. You will never stop missing your sweet Maui, but you will carry on.

It is with a heavy heart that I just read about Maui's passing. Maui was indeed a very special little dog and now waits for you, James, at the Rainbow Bridge. I have followed Maui's journey from the very beginning. My sincere condolences to you and to Molly. I truly believe you will feel Maui's spirit around you giving you comfort. God Bless.

Dear James,

I'm sure you know that all of our thoughts, sympathy and prayers are with you. Maui and her "pack wisdom" have become part of all our lives -- and we've taken her into our hearts with our own pack members.

My own Ollie is 13 and a half years old -- and is losing his sight to cataracts. So I see Maui more and more -- every time I look into his eyes. I know that I have to help him experience as much as he can of every day of his life -- and keep him out of harm's way, to the extent that I can.

I hope that you will be able to overcome the pain you feel now. I'm sure Maui is frolicking with my Sadie and her predecessor Hercules on the far side of the Rainbow Bridge, as sprightly and happy as she ever was, secure in the knowledge that you will always love her, and that you'll come for her, one day.

Detaching ourselves in this way is never easy at first. Isn't it in Hawaii that one says " she's simply changed address"?
At this time, James and Molly, my heart is bleeding for you, but Maui is smiling on you now and saying "Thank you for a wonderful life - we did it right together".
I pray that your pain is short lived.

Oh James! I am sooooo very sorry to hear about Maui! Even though I didn't know her, my heart is breaking right along with yours. It's always so hard to lose a family member and though she is no longer here with you in this life, she'll be waiting for you at the Rainbow Bridge, tail wagging & a big puppy smile on her face when she'll be able to greet her dad again. I know I'm not the only one with tears streaming down my face. Many of us feel your pain. Please know that we're all here for you and are praying for you.
