I Remember Love

The Social Network for Dog Lovers

It is with a heavy heart that I
am writing to let you know that
Maui passed away today.

I thank you and everyone in our
community who has kept us in
your thoughts and prayers these
past few days.

I know that Maui was a little
part of a lot of people's lives.

I am going to disconnect from email
for a few days, but if you would
like to send your condolences or
words of support, please post a
comment below.

Please know that I will read all
of your kind messages when I
re-emerge sometime next week.

Again, many thanks for your
support and prayers this past week.
Molly and I (and most importantly,
Maui) felt them. Thank you from
the bottom of my heart.

Aloha,

James Jacobson

James & Mollie -

I've been "lurking" for some time, and have enjoyed being a silent part of your "family." I'm sorry it was your loss to bring me out into the open.

Please know that I had tears in my eyes as I read about your little Maui "going home." It is such a hard thing to experience, and while healing is part of it, there will always be a place for her with you forever.

I have "asked" my own group from the Rainbow Bridge - Buster & Maggie (springers) and Jasper (Bichon) - to meet her and show her the ropes.

Knowing that they are all there romping and playing together - with no pain - has been a big comfort to me, as I hope it will be for you.

Dear James and Molly,

I am so very sorry to hear of Mauis passing. You released her from her pain and now take on the pain yourselves. It is the greastest final gift we can give our furbabies. Please know you did the right thing for Maui. You will meet again. For them it is but a moment, for us a little longer.

Love, Priscilla.

Dear James,
This is a story I have framed in my home and it gives me comfort when I lose one of my furry children. I know when it is my turn to go, I will be met at the Rainbow Bridge by all those animals that have a piece of my heart and all my love. Losing a pet is so hard and when we make the decision to help them leave, it is even more difficult, but as people who share thir life, and as the person these little ones count on to take care of them, we are doing the right thing, we are loving them till the end. Myheart goes out to you at this very, very difficult time.

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.
When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.
All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.
They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.
You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.
Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

James and Molly you are both in my prayers. There are very few e-mails that I read but yours is one of them. You and Maui have brought joy into my life. I know how hard it is to lose a friend. We lost Brady a few months ago. Two of our other dogs are very old and I think God is getting ready to take one (Sneaker). I do believe that "All Dogs Go To Heaven" and that Maui is playing with Brady right now. Remember the good time with Maui and also know that someday you all will be re-united in a place so beautiful we can't even imagine. God has decided He wanted Maui in His Kingdom now and you will be there later. Take care and try to find peace in the fact that Maui is in the best place of all. God bless you and Molly now and always.

I'm so sorry to hear of Mauis passing. I can only hope the peace, comfort and happiness you both shared with others will be with you now and help you through this terribly sad time. No one can remember Maui and not 'remember love'.

Dear James and Molly
I mourn with you .It broke my heart as i read your letter i know it had to be hard to write it .We know they have to go sooner than we want to let them go and it hurts so deep i know i have been there a lot of times in my 63 years.I will remember Maui with love and I hope you get peace in knowing she loved you also and didn't want to go but we all have a time and we know that when we take these little loving babies into our hearts one day it will hurt but keep the goodtimes with you.and always remember the love.
so so sorry

Now I'm crying! I know what this feels like. They are human to us and we will never forget them. He is an Angel now up in Heaven. No more pain. He is still with you in your heart. It will take time. You will never forget him. I'm so sorry! You take care!

When I opened my E-mail this morning and saw your post that Maui had crossed over Rainbow Bridge, I was truly saddened. She became a part of my life the first time I viewed "Do you remember Love". That is such a beautiful piece and I will view that as a memorial to her. It is my screensaver. She was so loved and she loved you. If ever there was a happy being it was Maui. She brought so much happiness to all who was fortunate enough to get to know her. Godspeed Maui, will see you on the other side. God be with you James and Molly.

James & Molly...your sweet Maui's soul will live in your hearts forever...I can only imagine your grief at this time...Maui was so brave and true, she gave it her all for you...and you returned it ten fold...this loving, powerful emotional bond is now locked in your hearts...they are like our children and yet we become the children, they the teachers. So many, many blessed lessons little Maui came to teach...and so lucky were you to have been recipients...what else is there? Thank you for sharing these lessons and your precious Maui with us all. Time is
Too slow for those who wait,
Too swift for those who fear,
Too long for those who grieve,
Too short for those who rejoice,
But for those who love,
Time is not.

It is with tears that I type this in hopes that you, Jim and Molly know that I'm thinking of you both at this time. I know what it feels like to lose a pet. We bond with them like we bond with our children. I understand your wanting to disconnect from email for awhile.

God Bless you both,
Linda

Dear James and Molly:

Though you don't know me, I have looked upon Maui just as I do my Lucky and Lucy. I am sitting here with tears in my eyes. Maui was so beautiful . A pet quickly becomes part of the family, don't they. Love and good care are rewarded by companship, love and loyalty. What a wonderful life Maui had and I am sincerely sorry for your loss. I have enjoyed your stories about Maui more than I can say. I looked forward to them day to day. I know how much you will miss Maui in the days to come and I believe there are many of us out here that will be missing her as well. My heart goes out to you at this time and I share your grief and pray for peace in the midst of losing Maui. Maui has now gone over the golden bridge and will be waiting anxiously for you in all her glory when the time comes. for you to join her.

God Bless, Joyce Grimes - Flagler Beach, Florida
