Profile Information

What are your dog(s) names and ages:
Velvet Ann Christmas, we call her Annie. She is 4 years old
What is your dog's breed? (If you have more than one dog, please list a name followed by breed.)
Cocker Spaniel
About Me:
I am a divorced mother of three children whom are grown and living wonderful lives. I now reside in Alaska. I am presently unemployed, which at the moment gives me alot of quality time with my Annie. She loves the snow here and the long walks together we share daily.
What is one thing your dog does that reminds you to open your heart and love more deeply?
One thing is almost impossible to answer, theres so many things she has given to me, but I guess I would have to say is that when I was going through my divorce she sensed the sadness in me and surrounded herself to me, she would always somehow make me laugh and smile. Her love and affection is so direct not just towards me but I have noticed with many others.
Do you have a website or personal page (such as on Facebook or MySpace) that you'd like to share with other members of our community?

Thank you so much for your kind words, and I do pray your right, and maybe someday there will be room for another dog in my life. I have alot of healing right now and my memories of Annie will always be so sweet and full, I will continue to hold my membership thru this site as maybe someday I will be able to offer a little advice to someone going thru the same. I thank you again Linda for your words of wisdom and have found myself reading them over and over sometimes, they have given me a little comfort. May God Bless You!!! Your friend, Trish

Ahhh, so sorry to hear you had to give Annie up. The guilty part is in your mind. She's not holding a grudge or anything. She'll get used to her new home and I'm sure if you picked the people who have her, she has a good home and is loved. One day, soon, you'll be ready for another dog.
Keep in touch,
Linda :-)

Hi Trish...I love Annie!! I love cocker spaniels!! And have had cockerpoos for a long time...now have Teddy, rescued from Texas...what I love most is how they prance! Does Annie prance when she walks? My friend whom I walk with often has Coco who looks like Trish and just bounces along with this gait that tickles me.

How can we not shower them with love? They give us so much...especially in "our" times of "need," as Annie did during your divorce...I swear they know every emotion we feel.

Thank you for sharing your Annie... Ellen & Teddy in RI

Hi Trish, you know your Annie is just a dog, however loved she may be. If you give her up she'll get used to her new owners and probably not think anything at all about the how and why BUT you will miss her terribly and probably regret it. Annie will be great company in the days and weeks ahead. Good idea, don't jump into anything.

My heart goes out to you. Linda
