What is your dog's breed? (If you have more than one dog, please list a name followed by breed.): Slovak was rescued from a shelter in Houston. Not sure what all he is... chihuahua, terrier mix. Missy was rescued from PAWS in San Marcos, TX. She is a lab-pit mix.

About Me:: I am an avid animal lover. All my dogs have been rescued or adopted. I grew up with Dobies my entire life (gotten from the NTX Dobie rescue league) I'm learning to appreciate the "smaller" dog now that we have Slovak. (he was my husband's idea!)
I'm a married mother of a 4 year old who is showing signs of animal love... of any kind. Even bugs!

What is one thing your dog does that reminds you to open your heart and love more deeply?: I can walk out to get the mail, adn come back 20 seconds later and she acts like I was gone for a week, adn nothing is more important than hugging and kissing me. Their unconditional love is just so comforting. They just can't "get close enough" when snuggling.

My chihuahua was homeless after Hurricane Marilyn, an addict rescue her, then gave her to me to "temporaily" keep while she went to treatment. She never returned, so "Domino" became mine. Always having big dogs this was a first, and I found she was a BIG dog in a little body!!! She is the Alpha and has raised my 110lb Doberman from a puppy and she is the only one he really listens to!!

My wife and I currently have a one-eared English Coonhound for a foster dog, and I have a small network of folks who also foster for me. If you ever become interested in doing more in rescue than adopting for your family, let me know. We are always short-handed.

So, what's wrong with Kate liking bugs? :-)
