Our family is grieving the loss of our sweet Mia, pictured above. She was a beautiful black lab cross rotti. Tragically, she was hit by a car on Saturday, September 27, 2008. Mia was my son's dog, my grandpuppy, and they had just moved into their new home just 6 months ago. My son, his fiance and their Mia. Up until then my son and Mia lived here with us. She was only 5 years old and so full of life. Mia wandered off on Sept. 27th and we spent the afternoon and into the evening looking for her, we put posters up all over town on sunday...but it wasn't until Monday morning when we received the sad news that there had been a report of a dog being hit on the highway on Saturday afternoon. Late Monday it was confirmed that it was our Mia. She was returned to my son and his fiance, and has since been cremated and is now home again with them.

We are ever so thankful for the lady, whom I refer to as Mia's angel, that stopped to be with Mia, she witnessed the accident and stopped and ran to Mia, and called the police. She sat with Mia, petting her and talking to her while Mia took her last breath and began her journey to the Rainbow Bridge. If not for her we would have never known what happened to Mia, because she left her name and number with the police, and the SPCA was notified we were able to call her and thank her personally. Thank goodness there are still people out there who care. The driver of the vehicle that hit Mia did not stop. Our hearts are broken, we miss our Mia girl so much. Our lives will never be the same without her.
