I have a mixed terrier we rescued form a dog shelter his name is Rusty. Rusty was to be put down in 1 day before we rescued him. He has been such a loving little guy to us.
About Me:
I love dogs...Dogs totally rule! Iam a teaching assistant in a elementary school. I collect teddy bears and like card making and scrap booking. Hanging out with my husband and dog!
What is one thing your dog does that reminds you to open your heart and love more deeply?
Just being the sweet dog he is..He looks out the window when we leave and is in the window when we come home,,,He is at the back door when we come in. All excited to see us.

Hi I am a huge dog lover! they are the best...I care for all creatures but dogs really do rule. We adopted Rusty 13 yeras ago when he was 2. he was abused, and scared. Hi Karin,

I was a pediatric nurse, know a lot about amputations unfortuneately. I became disabled about 8 years ago. Then the hospital got a teenage girl who had a very aggressive tumor in her foot. She has a below the knee amputation. I bring her up because she has been my son's girlfriend about 3 years now. She is now 21, she is a singer. She works for Make A Wish Foundation. If I figure out how I can show you her page and her beautiful songs.

My son was completely fine with her amputation, he had a best friend for years that was born without the tibia bone I think? So they had to amputate at birth. He had to get surgery every two years to keep his leg straight, and then a knob to turn and lengthen his bone daily. He was so scared of the hospital he would not go unless my son went along to LA to be with him. Then like clockwork my son had to go hold his hand while they turned the knob. He would come over and take off his prosthetic no problem. Becca, the girlfriend will never take off her leg, probably because it happened at such an influencial age. His friend was born this way and had no issues at all.

I am glad you have a good attitude about your leg. Becca still grieves over her leg, not as healthy.

You would never know looking at her.

To add friends, or invite it says I need to put in addresses, how do I do that?? So new at this.

Thank you Karin!:)

Karin, I also got chills reading about Maui. My 12 year old Maltese Rio passed away in my arms on June 28th. Sarah and I met on this website when Chia and Rio were going through some difficult times....then Rio passed away and unfortunately Chia left us 2 days later. I am so heartbroken but relieved I found a friend in Sarah. I am very heartbroken..since Rio passed....But his little brother Oliver needs my attention. I wrote a tribute to Rio and mailed it to all friends and family....it made me feel good doing it...it was comforting for me. You can view some of my discussions that I started and the the tribute called A tribute to my sweet Rio...... I feel for the parents of Maui....its such a sad time : (

Isn't he or is it she? the sweetest puppy? I will be buying my puppy from an akc breeder so it should look something like that picture. Maybe different white and black markings, aside from the black mask that most of them have. I am so nervous about it! It will mean many changes in my life.
